A Love Letter to the Late Night Queue
Dear late night queue,
You've always been there for me.
When the day was too loud, you were quiet. When the house was asleep, you were awake. When I needed escape, you opened your servers and asked no questions.
You are the 2 AM lobby. The only place that understands why I'm still here.
In a world of responsibilities and early mornings, you remind me that some moments are just for me. Not productive. Not necessary. Just... chosen.
You've seen my worst games. My desperate ranked attempts when I should have slept. My experiments with characters I have no business playing. And you've matched me anyway, patiently, with other insomniacs who understood.
You ask for nothing but an internet connection and faith that someone else, somewhere, is also avoiding tomorrow.
Some people dream of packed lobbies and prime-time competition. But I think the purest form of gaming is what happens between us, baby. Just you, me, and a handful of strangers scattered across time zones.
No judgment. No pressure. No reason to be here except that we want to be.
Thank you for being my refuge. My ritual. My home after dark.
Eternally queuing,
*โ Salamander Stevens*
P.S. I'm sorry for all the matches I abandoned when I heard footsteps in the hallway. You deserved better.
